Just in case anyone here looks forward to the AMV Contest/any AMV related schedule events at all, it's come forward that AX has effectively shit-canned the entire AMV volunteer staff department that have been running the show since 2012, and have not announced any successors or even opened up the submission form for contest entries.

Hopefully when they figure out what it is you might be able to get help for it. A lovely bout of infectious mononucleosis a few years ago (thanks bf ilu) left me with chronic post-viral fatigue. It's not nearly as bad as what you're describing but on bad days I also sleep ~12 hours a day and it's hard to explain to people that I'm legitimately exhausted, not just being lazy. Shit sucks.

In all honesty, I hear a lot of very young people say this.

"She/he can't really be having problems, they talk about them too much. People with REAL problems don't talk about it so much/show pictures all the time/seek attention, so they must be faking." Normally this followed up with something like "Not like me, I keep all my suffering to myself. That's how I know I'm right."

People have different personalities, but go through similar problems. Very smart people will experience hardship differently than more naive people. The introverted and shy react differently than extroverted. It's like how people will mock teens who cut, implying that if they really meant it, if they really had a problem, they would have a true suicide attempt. Not realizing that cutting at all means you have pretty significant issues regardless.

I say this as someone who kept my issues to myself until they burst out in a very unfortunate place. She might just be attention seeking, sure, but using tumblr as your personal diary isn't necessarily an indicator that there's really nothing wrong with her life.

Hell, I knew a girl who constantly talked about her abusive dad, getting knocked up at age 15, and her horrific problems nonstop. To people she barely knew. And she wasn't lying.

People with issues don't always know social skills well. /cgl/ should know that.
