First... That's just creepy how close it looks.

Second... The only time I was outright scammed was for a $25 bodyline skirt on LM, which I thought was a weird hill for that account to choose to die on (really? for $25?).

Beyond that what I've experienced most often is a LACK of disclosure, or not honest disclosure. That is to say someone says they have a cat in the house, but their brand is "kept safely away" and then I get a dress covered in cat hair and smells like litter. I have pets, it's not a health issue, but learning that now I have to pay out an extra $40 in dry cleaning isn't fun.

Another issue has been the mention of minor damage without good photos of that damage. A lot of the time I ignore the mention of "minor damage" because it's easily fixed (fun fact; a lot of the time you just need to wash the dress and it's back to new) but at least twice the "minor damage" was actually "you will need to severely alter this garment before wearing" and that's been a bummer.

I use to work a lot of cons, 10 years ago, within a 100 radius.
There was this one guy;

He smelled like he never bathed... And never watched the robe. He went to most of the cons. I could always smell him in the room before spotting him. He never broke any rules and was polite... There were no offical rules to boot him. He just always showed up. And I ended up stuck in line behind him at least twice.

I dropped out of the endless working-for-free-all-year merry go round of con stuff and haven't really gone back... But sometimes I wonder...

I understand the organizer has been dealing with some shit and has been a bit busy, but she should have passed off responsibility to someone else as soon as said shit started happening. The meet sounded pretty fun too.

The blouse has finally shipped and is on its way to JCEX, but the cross choker and bat clip are still in limbo. It took me ten days to get a tracking number out of the seller (and that was after she said she had finished making it, what was stated to be a 3-4 day process has taken a month), and now five days after she shipped it it hasn't moved an inch. I suspect I was given a false number just to shut me up. Now she says that due to heavy rains the courier hasn't been able to transport anything... and sure enough flooding is pretty common during the rainy season in the city she's shipping from. This seller is an individual who has a regular job and only sells accessories as a hobby, and I'm grateful for her putting up with my shitty google translate/dict.cn chinese, but I've got only four days left to request my money back and she's been dragging this whole thing out.

God, I look at these and think to myself, "Do they really think this looks remotely lolita?" Then I get incredibly sad and remember this was my idea of lolita when I was in middle school. I kind of miss the good ol' fashion ita. It's so nostalgic.
