I can't speak to the websites you're talking about but I am a daily contact wearer. Here's how they differ:

Prescription Vision Contacts:
>obtained via optometrist
>Replaced daily or monthly depending on brand
>Washed using contact lens fluid rinsed on top of contact in hand
>There are optometrist brand color contacts, but they are usually pretty transparent as they prioritize vision and safety over style. They do not come in unnatural colors or styles.
>higher quality material, thinner plastic to be made more comfortable for long daily wear

Color Contacts for Cosplay / Costuming:
>usually obtained online
>reputable online retailers will usually require a prescription and eye curvature obtained from a optometrist.
>distributed in glass vials, one per contact
>some, but not all must be submerged in fluid for 24 hours before wear
>will expire after a year of opening
>Can be worn for up to a year if properly cared for
>washed using something like picrel which shakes any buildup
> Typically shorter wear times as they are meant to be special occasion as opposed to vision lenses.
