Bowleggedness (o-kyaku) is an East Asian racial trait, and they’re as self-conscious about it as they are about their lack of double-folded eyelids. I remember reading an account of the first Japanese prima ballerina, who had to put herself through incredible pain to achieve the close-legged classical positions. (Technically, it’s not the kind of bowleggedness that’s caused by malnutrition, but naturally curved tibia.)
