Having been that guy, the best advice I can give to you is to just appreciate it. If he's anything like I was he really just enjoy taking care of you and seeing you happy. If you feel the need to communicate part of it than do so, he'll love it.

My gal went and took a shit in my heart and there have been other girls but none who I enjoyed taking care of more than her or being appreciated by. One of the most painful things I've ever had to do was turn her away when she tried to come back to me last month, but as much as I wanted that feeling back I couldn't disrespect myself like that.
