I'm trying to reduce to just 1 sewing box (the colorful one). The top desk shelf is acrylic paint which I was thinking about displaying like pic related. The extra two boxes can probably be moved to the closet, now that I think about it. (Though, space is at a premium there) I also want to paint the cosplay award and bulletin board frames white.

As far as the shelves, I could switch the large one on right with the desk, or possibly the small shelf with storage by moving the shelf (pita) but I'm unsure if that makes it feel bigger or not? This is the fourth place I've had the desk.

The gap is a good point-out, I'm hoping that the skirt will cover that. the taller part is because otherwise the blue parlor doesn't fit- it's too wide. Making them flush would mean eliminating one of the pieces

I'm actually having a problem with my short dog knocking off all the toys on the bottom shelves to hide her toys under them which is a huge pain. I need 4 more sets of risers.

I think what I'm going to do is add a mounted white shelf for the monster high above the futon (or maybe 2 small ones, staggered, I have enough MH in storage) moving the top shelf up and possibility eliminating some of the things on that shelf to reduce clutter. Then the second area (with the bjds) will become more of a diorama again. I think any background behind something like the ponies would be far too much clutter.

I think I'm going to talk the bf into helping me move things around again and think about it. I can't figure out how to have the desk face the TV, it has to be anchored against a wall because sticking out from the wall takes up way too much space. So whether it's back to the TV or side to the TV, either one will be less than optimal.

I really wish I had a better way to store the pokemon plush (bottom shelf) which look pretty awful at the moment, but I don't know that there's any good way to display those. Also- I have no room for a hammock, no corners.
