i have hoarded many photos of jfashionistas that i think have artistic value beyond the usual coord shot or selfie. i would like to share some. they will include all kinds of Japanese alternative fashion, and subjects may be any age or gender; and they will NOT be images from publications such as KERA, Fruits, etc.; so i hope there will be good inspiration for a variety of seagulls.

the last thread featured some portraits that use techniques to disorient the viewer, sometimes even to challenge or antagonize the viewer; portraits in which false injuries or writing in or near the subject seem to express an internal wound or convey anti-authoritarian or other subversive feeling; subjects isolated from others or the environment, reflecting on the "outsider" status of alternative fashionistas; generally, the trend of using portraiture to depict common subjective feelings of subversion, defiance, alienation, solitude, dreaming, power, and self-determination among those who wear alternative fashion.

now, i would like to begin this thread with a return to simpler pleasures of color and form. i want to share photographs that use solid backdrops, typically in a studio setting, to create visually striking portraits.
