>have very, VERY thin hair
>be extremely careful while combing, shampooing it etc.
>blow dry on a cool setting
>use hair oil and conditioner for thin hair
>it still breaks off all the time and refuses to grow past my shoulders

What am I doing wrong? I don't have split ends or anything, could it be something with my diet? My whole family suffers from extremely thin hair but some of them have longer hair.

Should I just save many and get a professional hair extension/weave?
