There was a super tall black dude cosplaying as a White Lotus guard at SDCC this year. He was straight outta Chi-Town and only got into Avatar because of the "kick ass martial arts". He said he fell in love with the show and had his sister, who was a cosplayer, whip him up a costume and came to SDCC with her.

He was such a cool guy. Invited a bunch of the ATLA cosplayers out to dinner, and wouldn't stop gushing about how cool the con was. Kept insisting that people gotta leave their hate at the door and just have a good time. "Surrender to the nerd love. Own your shit, homies. You decide how cool you are."
