I use a generic dremel with a tiny bit. Size depends on the piece and the screw/pin. It doesn't have to be very deep - just enough for the screw to catch hold, or trim an eyepin to fit and put a drop of glue on it.
Remember to use a mask and try to drill outside, though!

Somebody tell me what to price these brooches at.
