Evening Seagulls. I would like to purpose an update to /cgl/

With the recent turmoil caused by Heroes of cosplay, the (recent) confusion over copyright ownership and, the changes made to /cgl/ by moot earlier this year. I think it has become apparent that /cgl/ and possibly even cosplay as a whole has/ is currently undergoing a paradigm shift. (especially in the last year)

/cgl/ is the infamous dark horse of the cosplay and egl community. As a forum It grants its users features that, for better or for worse, make it unique; This ends up being a double edged sword. As representatives of our hobby we are at our best when we can offer constructive criticism, helpful advice, or inspiration. We are unparalleled in our ability to be open and honest and we are second to none when it comes to standing up for ourselves and others against discriminatory, dishonest or unethical behaviour.

Without getting all sunshine brigade, or cosplay ambassador on you, it is no secret that /cgl/ has its own share of problems but, for the reasons posted above, I believe it also presents a unique opportunity; to provide an honest introduction of cosplay to new and non cosplayers and also provide more detailed information on the basic theory and practice of cosplay and serve as a guide that can answer basic questions or debunk myths. Looking at our current sticky/pastebin it is very disorganized, a hodgepodge of useful and outdated "tips".
So If anyone is interested, Id like to consider making a new guide and would like to discuss further on what to include.

Disclaimer: This is not a proposal to turn /cgl/ into coscom, nor is it an attempt downplay or divert attention from the current representations of cosplay. I want improve /cgl/ without compromising its foundation.
