I know right? And yet people still seem to think this is what nanchatte seifuku tends to look like. You'll probably more likely see smarter/neat looking clothes rather than deliberately sloppy looking styles these days.

I wouldn't mind if they were to think I'm foreign, but why would a foreigner wear an uniform while on holiday/exchange? It would still be weird. I've worn a galaxy seifuku to town before and no one looked at me twice, but that's probably just because it doesn't even look like an uniform. Still, I wonder if I could pull off something more casual like pic related, with tights instead of OTKs and without a tie or bow, to make it seem like a more casual outfit. People over here don't know what school uniform shoes look like, so I won't have any problems with that either. Any thoughts?
