Cosplayed as Venom Snake, which caused all sorts of great interactions with people. Pic related was even retweeted by Kojima. (not my pillow; found someone carrying it so I got a picture with it)

Got engaged to the woman of my dreams in front of all my con friends. She cosplayed with me as Quiet and we were great. Lots of fun every time we ran into other MGS cosplayers.

Made new friends, met up with all my old friends, got engaged, had a blast. Best Youmacon in recent memory. Didn't end up actually going to or hosting any panels this time, but given all the reports about their schedule bullshit I'm glad I didn't bother.

The Marriott was worse than usual, though. Literally waited four hours for a luggage cart on checkout day. They started hanging up on me when I started calling them about it, and I wasn't even being rude. Eventually went down in person, flagged a bellboy down, and he was happy to come get my stuff. Said he was even waiting for them to give him a room to go to. What the fuck? Made me question staying there for future years. I always like to stay in the same hotel a con is at so I can have quick access to my room, but everyone I know who stayed at the Courtyard across the street had absolutely no hassle all weekend and were just a skywalk away from the con. If the price isn't too bad, I think that's what I'm doing next year.
