Oh my god, I was looking up cyber goth as well. I dressed like a complete nerd at the time—I wasn't even in high school (2012ish?) and had frugal parents, so I wouldn't have been able to buy my own clothes anyway. I somehow found a "cyber lolita" thread on cgl which made me fall in love with awful coordinates with black colorways of sweet prints (thank god I didn't have money). I went through about a billion phases in terms of what styles interested me while lurking on different forums. It wasn't until college that I finally developed my own daily style and I'm just now feeling confident enough that my taste will be consistent to start buying dresses. It turns out I never grew out of pastels and black in the end, but I swear to never coordinate them with rave gear.
