>Most women just have no standards and think that few people are ugly.
No, you have it backwards. We consider plenty of men to be ugly because you put in no effort. Women *know* that ugly people need to put in effort to become more attractive. That's just a fact. It's because most women would be considered ugly ourselves if we put as little effort into our appearance as men do. So we know first-hand how huge of a difference it makes for both men and women. I'm hot now, but if I didn't get hair treatments, do skin care, get my face waxed, shave my body hair, watch my diet, wear makeup, and know what clothing suited me, I'd look "ugly". That's why so many women are ugly ducklings in high school and then gradually blossom into attractive adults. It's not because we got plastic surgery or anything...it's just because we learned how to care for our appearance. Picrel is a prime example.

Now obviously men won't need to get waxed or learn makeup or anything like that, but you do need to work out, learn what clothing suits you best, and find a haircut that works for you. A man will always look more attractive if he puts effort into his appearance (even if it's alt fashion) than if he slaps on a Nintendo tee and cargo shorts.
