I asked this in crossplay about a couple weeks ago, but I only got one reply and it looks like the thread died.

With that said, what are people's opinions of me (5'11" 170lb, male) crossplaying Neptune? Is it frowned upon if I don't look completely female? Is makeup necessary?

Yo /cgl/. I want to crossplay Neptune someday and I have a few questions:

1. Can I pull it off? I am 5'11", 175 lbs, kind of thick build. I crossplay Touhou but I think the expectations for fitting into characters in that community are lower.
2. Is makeup and such necessary? Can I just wear sunglasses and be a bro or is that frowned on?
3. More of a general question, but should I get a local individual to do a cosplay commission or order online?
