if you look at lolita fashion history in the 80s it really didnt look victorian at all. the misconception and idea that its victorian inspired comes from the character momoko in a popular lolita novel, who, as a character and her own person thought lolita was inspiring for her victorian lifestyle. just because momoko thought this doesnt mean all lolitas do.
pic related, this is what lolita started as. i dont see the connection to victorian fashion because it simply wasnt there. it started from goth fashion and evolved from there on. im sorry if lolita offends you because you obviously love victorian fashion very much but many of us have no knowledge or care for victorian times at all in the slightest.

It's been a while since we've had a thread. What have you ordered lately or are looking forward to receiving in the mail? What are you putting together? Is there some aspect you've really gotten into? Have you changed yourself in some way to fit better with the look, i.e. changing your hair style or makeup aesthetic?
