will going to an anime convention get me a gf, friends, and a ticket out of sperg life?

Overall I really had a good time at AFO this year. Very stressful stuff with my car was going on before the trip though which was kinda hanging over my head the whole time.

I was asked to help judge the Iron Cardboard Robot Cosplay contest which was a ton of fun and my first time to ever judge anything in any capacity.

On Saturday my contacts fell out after only 10 minutes in my mech suit. That is the second time that has happened and it makes navigating and talking to people so much more difficult since I cant see jack without them.

My mecha cosplay panel went well though some technical problems early on made me have to rush more than I would have liked. George Spanos was the helmet raffle winner. I believe he is part of the Propeller Anime crew.

My GF competed in the costume contest in the Hyaku-Shiki suit and won Best Armor. This was her first time on stage so she was really nervous but did really well imo. Korin walked away with a well deserved BiS award.

I was having a good time until some guy came up and accused me of hitting his lady friend with my Beam Saber. This despite me staying on the far edge of the rave throng to avoid exactly that kind of thing from happening. I am fairly positive he/her was mistaken but he was getting in my face about it so I just left.
