Hot take: There are three basic aesthetic strains of Gothic Lolita. These are linked to three brands, though they don't need to use main pieces from that specific brand.
>Moitie style - Based in Mana's personal style. Clean lines, matching cross lace, black white and blue are the main colours. Religious iconography is common. Makeup derives from Western Goth with traditional Japanese influences. Big hair.
>AtePi Style - Styling is more like Western Romantic and Victorian Goth. Gathered skirts, black with opulent jewel tones. The closest Gothic style to Classic lolita, set apart by using more black, platform shoes, and heavier makeup. More extravagant and draping.
>Boz Style - Borders on Aristocrat, but with shorter skirts. Clean tailoring, often inspired by military uniform or menswear. Religious influences come through sometimes but in the design rather than the motifs of dresses. Mature hairstyling is more common. Jewel, Olive, and brown colours surprisingly common with a strong base of black.
Pic related is these three aesthetic strains all on the same person.
