I'm a DD thread success story. I first noticed Moitie's Lace Flock JSK in 2008/9 when I first started lurking in online lolita comms, but would have had no way of affording it before 2011. I was a pretty regular poster in early dream dress threads and remember when we started having them as a regular thing. Finally got it in 2015 from a European seller, and people even kept an eye out for me when I missed some of the messages she sent me on lacemarket due to email notifications not working.
