it's ok. I cant live on it or anything. I'm lucky cause I am a former Weta Workshop costume armourer so I can sell at the Weta shop and get to name drop the Weta name.
advice? Look after your hands. take plenty breaks and focus on quality not quantity and work into more variation on styles, colours and weaves. Plenty people make chain not many make it well. make sure you use good quality metals and have no burrs or edges on the work.
