Yeah, I think something like >>9842096 or pic related wouldn't look weird in my comm. But only a minority of girls in my comm wear OTT (including to events or fancy meets). Wearing old-school would look more out of place in my comm but of course it would also be accepted.
To normies it all looks equally weird so whatever, you should wear the lolita style you love the most. If you prefer casual lolita, why force yourself to dress OTT for a meet?
