Ngl I just got tired of the drama this place somehow manages to muster that 10x over any other place. While I still pop in from time to time to check on events and lurk a few discords I almost never really engage outside a few close people I know and trust.

I don't have time to play guessing games of if someone is a dickhead because 5 or 6 years ago some dude was a dick that time you met him
The petty circlejerk around discord mods now vs. who's not a suckup vs. who's just that annoying is boring
Any and all room drama is a killer.

CGL culture at least in my mind died in 16 or 17, basically when anyone who grew up on 4chan started getting job. The fun was having a thread dedicated to the con where info was just shared, meetup points were always at a landmark, hotel, or bar, afterword most everyone would split their different ways; and most importantly taking their differences with one another with them and said party.

Now you have discord. CGL thread either migrates to that discord or all discussion goes there, and it's about whatever troon, orbiter for women, or drama fest the server has going for it. You then gotta deal with really petty drama other than "anons gunna anon" followed by years of 4chan and cgl dug up drama from 4chan or discord. What's the worst is orbiters and drama stirrers.

Maybe I was just blissfully unaware but man the best times I had was just chilling with random anons drinking, partying, and shitposting knowing the thread will 404 and all the dumbshit drama with it(usually).
