As a Catholic, I agree that that's what everyone says. I'd say that irl too if asked directly. Like it's not meant to be jewellery. But that is really not how we act about our rosaries haha. If you got a swarovski rosary for your first communion, you show it off to the other girls. They can be family heirlooms. My aunt wears her carmelite-made one visibly so it's both a symbol showing her religion but also because it's pretty, pic related is a similar one. They're definitely dual purpose both spiritual and mundane to many people even if they don't want to admit it. But you're right this is a fashion discussion, it doesn't really matter
