I know she's more old school (in the genuine sense, not the modern formulaic idea of old school lolita) than ita, but almost all her coords would definitely be seen as ita today. But they have such a nostalgic feel, I can't help loving them.

Thank you so much, I didn't have the energy to write something similar.

It may be that modern Lolita is so different from old school, people have forgotten about this, or that new Lolitas never had exposure to it. Their body language said a lot too. I miss the deadpan expressions Lolitas use to wear for snaps. "sweet, but poisonous." "Look, but don't touch." "I look like a princess but have the power of a king." That's always the feeling it gave me, and I loved it. I love the cute, sweet poses and photos too, but I'm sad the "sweet, but poisonous if eaten" attitude is extinct.

I hope one day there will be a culture shift and Lolita will come back to it's roots a bit. There has been more interest in oldschool lately, so that gives me a bit of hope that perhaps one day it will. I'd like to see brands put out more oldschool style dresses along side their modern ones.

For me personally, prints are cute, but they don't make the dress. I love the details. I love thick cotton lace and pintucking and appliques and prefer simple prints to the elaborate ones brands put out these days. That's not to say I don't like prints. There's tons of them that I love. But for me, prints aren't what Lolita is about.
