Americans don't understand math very well. They can't wrap their fat heads around exponentials or logs. It's baffling. I never thought mathematical ignorance would be deadly. They have no sense of scale or proportion so they say odd things like "the flu kills more" with pure conviction, convinced that that present fact was an accurate representation of the future. It's already been said several times that CoV-2 grows at a rate higher than most seasonal flu viruses out there. I don't understand what's so difficult about making predictions then based on that new piece of data alone.

I understand why they're upset, though. They're a people that like freedom, even the freedom to destroy one's self or one another. They lost all their plans and parties and some even their jobs because of the misplaced desire to save a bunch of old people. They are angry over losing the freedom that made them them. Americans are beautiful in that sense. Stubborn, selfish, and stupid, but beautiful.

The old in the US have had their run. Let this exhibition of stubborn self centeredness be the final gesture given by the zoomer to the boomer -- a youthful reflection of that same nihilistic hedonism that made the Boomer generation so detested by their antecedents.
