Ehh maybe because

1) The system is a scam
2) Bitcoin is the only sovereign asset capable of hedging on said scam, making anyone holding 1 BTC elite

my question is why not give those investors their bitcoins back instead of giving in dollars

Governments know 2 facts:

1) They cannot pay their debt ever, fiat is dead.
2) They cannot kill Bitcoin

They can keep the price low and accumulate while they can still manipulate it throught for example, the Goxing.

>2.5 million TSB bank customers can't access accounts for days, wages not being paid after failed database migration

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2018/apr/27/tsb-customers-vent-anger-it-meltdown-continues

So, once upon a time, a "bank" used to hold your "money" but it wasn't real money, cause there was what we call a "debt" based system. All of these debts were kept on centralised databases that sometimes failed and people couldn't access the paper money that represented the debts owing to them. And if more than 10% of the bank's customers wanted to redeem their deposits the whole financial system would collapse.

Yes, children this is a real story, stop asking me that.

Bitcoin is objectively a better gold already, irrespective of derpings about scaling it for niggers, so it WILL be worth millions.

Daily reminder that Bitcoin is the only asset in which you can possibly claim true ownership (and thus why its infinitely undervalued). Everything else isn't yours/it's easily confiscable. You are stuck with a certain jurisdiction and geopolitical moment, you can't freely move elsewhere may you need to do so.

Real estate: Not yours, sits on government controlled land. It's stuck where it is.

Stocks: Government controlled.

Gold: Easily confiscable. Stopped on every airport/border.

Bank accounts and anything else: Will be stolen from you to pay for shit you don't agree with at any time.

And so it follows.

The power is digital scarcity is so underestimated in bitcoin. Buying bitcoin today is like buying Manhattan Real Estate when John Jacob Astor bought real estate. Just as the price per acre in Midtown Manhattan is only affordable to Major businesses, so to in time 1 Bitcoin.
