I'm 28, but I don't have children yet. I do want a few someday though. My brother-in-law works at a very prestigious private school, so I'd put them through there.

I think with private school and college they could form connections with the right people and live good lives. Of course that is up to them. I grew up poor in the ghetto the first half of my life, I couldn't afford college, or anything like that, plus I'm too risk averse to take on $100k of debt for a finance degree. So, I already knew on my teens I'd be working until I die, just like my parents. The difference is, I'll have money to give my kids. My parents will be leaving me with absolutely nothing. No life insurance, no 401k, no pensions, no savings, etc. They're in their 60's and haven't even paid off their mortgage and car loans yet. I won't leave my children like that. I'll live in a cardboard box first.
