REMINDER:

The real bull run was 3 years ago from today. Now all you have is people desperately trying to get rich. It was truly an amazing run, some projects went 150x in 6 months.
Keep coping retards, you are late and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Because the mortgages held by the landlords (who are almost guaranteed to be holding those in mortgages, because the vast majority of independent investors, REITS, and other parties hold those assets with debt) need to be serviced, and what makes you think those landlords had the foresight to hold cash reserves in the event that something like this happened?

>muh forbearance
read the fine print. It's A) only for federally-backed loans and B) have no clause regarding remedies for the massive months-long cash flow hole that was left, leaving it up to lenders to decide whether they want to forgive or go after the mortgagor for the loss, which can (and very likely will, in the majority of cases) trickle down to renters.

Renting a building and subsequently not paying that rent for several months doesn't happen in a bubble, jackass.

It's good at predicting low volatility "smart" markets because its good at indicating movements made by finbros who believe in the exact same patterns. It's basically gambler's fallacy and attrition bias in all other markets.

For those that don't understand why stocks are as high as they are:
>Fed promised infinite QE
>Fed promised to do everything short of negative rates to help
>Massive stimulus
>More stimulus coming
>Buying the dip has been drilled into every single investors mind in the past 20 years
>0% Interest rates
>Megacaps push up indices
>Government promising to protect certain sectors
>Many stocks still haven't recovered

And most importantly! The stock market is not only not the economy, but it also not the economy today. The market is a collective effort to try to predict where things will be in the future. Investors have and continue to grow more intelligent and long term focused. Massive dips like the on in Feb/March provide opportunities to capitalize on the future.

Read some of the books in OP to get an idea of what you should be looking for in companies. You can get a substantial amount of feedback from earnings reports and basically any statistic about a company. Yeah of course your research can be shitty and your thesis can be wrong, that's part of the risk is being wrong.
>You also could be right but unlucky
This really only applies to things like options. Almost every time I've lost on options it was not because I was wrong it was because my timing was wrong. But that's the game with options, timing is the whole deal. Anon I can't tell you what the magic formula is to win, if I knew it I wouldn't be such a shitty investor. What I can tell you is that the more research you do, the more work you do, the better off you'll be. And you'll always be at risk, and you can always lose. But while you're losing or winning /smg/ is forever.

This true, I think everyone likes to fantasize about the end of the world scenario and think of themselves as surviving. You see the same type thinking on Stocktwits, people buying some obvious pump and dump shit thinking it's their time to finally get out of the madness that is the 21st century.

>>18721055
Anon please wear a seatbelt you could get hurt.

The people who wish for world destruction are always the most impotent people. The same people who would die in a day if the internet shut off.
