I got in while I could at 7.77, but If I had been in a week sooner It would have been 5 dollars a link. :( only have 811 stinkers. Gonna keep buying next time I get paid, though. By then I’ll probably be paying 20 per link.

"I just bought BTC at $8 while these OGs mined thousands and thousands for free! How to cope?"
Don't take the hazing of nulinkers too seriously fren. Link has a large marketcap at this point but its potential for growth is much larger. It's still incredibly early and distant from fulfilling its use case.

3. fork the code
Seriously, someone do this. Use liquidity mining distribution, YFI style. This team has shown themselves to be absolutely incompetent throughout the existence of the project and now they're downright shady. A currency like Ampleforth could be useful and Chainlink oracles mean nobody needs to be behind it as long as anyone is willing to deposit some eth into the contract for oracle calls. Anti-ample shows pajeets are willing to give a second chance to this kind of concept too.

Not comparable. The past was filled with useless speculative ($name)coin blockchains that were all trying to replace national currencies. We're currently entering a separate phase, that of actual usable products.
The dotcom bubble killed a bunch of tech companies because they were bleeding edge snake oil salesmen relying on a novel gimmick, but you don't see many of them folding in subsequent bear markets. They don't even feel like the same industry,
Indeed, you are starting to see the DeFi ecosystem carve out its own somewhat segregated market that doesn't have a lot of overlap with traditional crypto people. Bitcoiners want memecoins to be used as currency, DeFiers want currencies to be put into blockchains and don't care much for which, thinking of blockchain tokens as nothing but utility tokens to run smart contracts. Which is how they get into conflict with maxis.
