it all depends on what expiry and what the underlying is.
if the underlying is large like TSLA, this IS the way to do it. as the low deltas dont matter to much because the stock fluctuates 8 bucks a day

if youre on a slow moving stock thats say $30 a share, youd be wasting your time and eating theta w OTM ones. the returns are better for sure if it goes ITM, but if you start ITM, your delta can be 60-80, which means you immediately move like you have 60-80 of the underlying stock (at a fraction of the cost). also, you dont have to worry about theta till like the last day and its still negligable.

i day trade indexes with 80delta calls and puts. did it earlier on the Qs. if i did it with OTM ones i wouldve gotten less than half what i made on the same move.

so it really depends on the underlying mostly

to be fair, the IV for AMD matches the asset. It shifts +3% a day so high IV is expected. You can actually still get a bargain on the IV by exploiting theta vs the daily time bias in price volatility (aka price movements in certain stocks happen more during open so you gamble but make sure to dump by 10:30am or your EV is in the toilet)
