I absolutely love my current job, so much that I don't even mind being a wagecuck. I spend about 2/3 of my time in the comfy office (where 90% of time is spent shitposting and not doing much of anything) and 1/3 out in the field driving all over the place doing inspections, which is good because I like driving. I'm on the clock till 3:30 but I'm usually home before 2 everyday. Its not a strenuous job so i still have plenty of energy and time to do my hobbies after work. Just yesterday I got to the office at 7:30, did my work for the day which was maybe 45 minutes. Then I took a nap in my car for an hour. At 11am my boss sent me out to inspect 3 locations, so I took an hour and a half to drive around to each of them. At 12 I stopped at a diner for a spot of lunch before getting back to the office at around 1. I left at 1:30 and was home by 2. Life of kings.

I only make 65k but that's enough for me, I have friends making 95k doing the same job but in private companies where they are worked to death, 9-12 hours a day, 5-6 days a week, and because they're salaried they don't even get paid extra. I would absolutely not want to be doing that for an extra 30k. My job is so good I don't feel bad at all when I see the wagie posts here on Sunday nights. If I was a neet I think I'd do all of my hobbies so much and so often I'd get bored of them.

This is unironically my life at work. Ive flown my drone from my office roof, I've smoked joints in the parking lot with a buddy after boss has gone home, and the office engineer has helped me change the brake rotors and pads on my car in the office parking lot.

Once I finish my work for the day, yes I sit around and sleep. I don't think anyone in an office works a full 8 hours a day without any down time. Can't automate what I do, someone always has to do quality assurance/quality control in construction. Also this is just an entry level position as I am recently graduated from college. With time I'll move on to bigger and better things. Nice try :^)

But really who cares? I have been there making a nice salary, and I have been there riding the crypto bubble to a ridiculous high amount (+120k). In the end, money is the last thing I care about. I spend my day browsing the internet, working out, smoking weed, reading, gaming, listening to music and often hanging out with friends. I wouldn't trade that for a job even I was paid 200k with 3 months of yearly vacation. My life is pretty decent as it is and year after year I am improving on a personal level. I don't need a cope where I point my finger and yell "wagecuck" and have to compare my options to yours. I stated many times I do for work the government. Of course I have responsibilities, I just downplay them. I'm always on the phone with various contractors. Also I'm right around your area too. And, I am nearly 3 years out of college (I said recently graduated, but not 1 month ago) so I've already gotten 2 cost of living raises, they bump up by about 2k per year. And I'm including my 6-8k driving mileage in the overall number. When I started, directly out of college, this was a 53k position not counting driving.

But this isn't even all that extraordinary. I know a ton of people who graduated with me working for private companies and they were started out at 65-75k, many of my friends make 70-85k already right now. But they work 12 hours 5 or 6 days a week.
