Just graduated and I'm looking for a job boys.

Legal where I live lmao, based europe
Imagine living in a shithole that bans this shit on purpose.

OP you might want to state your degree, school, grades, country etc. Don't be afraid of looking for jobs outside of the field of your degree. Schiphol airport (the dutch one) for example has a CEO that has an MD + PhD

I have a BA in Theatre as well for some reason. But generally pretty irrelevant, I leave that off my resume in most cases.

Seems like you shouldn't have a problem finding a job in that area in your field. You might want to start a master's degree once you land a solid job because that might offer extra options in the future. Good luck anon, you're gonna make it

Did you take out a student loan for your theatre degree? I can't think of what's worse, having a theatre degree or being in debt because of it

Nah took out 2 years loan for ACC, parents paid for other 1/2. I took up theatre because i wanted to study art as well and had to hit 150 credit hours to sit for the CPA, so theatre degree was essentially free.

100% agree though, I generally couldn't imagine the fact that kids in my depeartment were paying full tuition often on loan for a theatre degree a a state school. 15-20k a year for a program i wouldn't pay more than 1-2 for and you'll be lucky to make 10-15 /year from

I'm involved with some stage combat/acting as a hobby and I kinda internally cringe when I find that people I'm working with hope to do it as a career strictly as an actor while ignoring tech work, set building, sewing, and literally everything else because they want to be in the spotlight.

I've labeled that a narcissist's wet dream.

But on the topic of thank you notes I feel like 99% of them will be received with "jesus, look at this try-hard."

my friend's going for a phd in economics, apparently there aren't many options for undergrad economics graduates.

>>9854831
Dude wat. Did your school have no recruiting? I have a bachelors in accounting and my school had a 99% placement rate. I had an internship with PwC before I graduated, and did literally nothing to earn it.

>> No.9856734

>>9854653
i'm in a similar boat. I am about to graduate next semester.

BS in Finance

3.0 GPA

2 Internships: one at a well known investment research firm, another at an F500 pharma company

I'm worried that with my GPA i'm not gonna be able to end up where I want (mid office at a bulge bracket bank in NYC)

I can either graduate as planned with my 3.0 or I can take an additional semester of GPA boosters and get like a 3.1-3.2.

What should I do?

>> No.9856788

>>9856734
Graduate as soon as you can. If you went to a decent school you could be looking at another 10k+ to take another semester. Your internships should carry you into the job you want. Look into master's programs if you're interested.

>> No.9856866

>>9856788
That's what I am on the fence about, if the tuition is worth getting the 3.2.

It seems first year recruiting is driven heavily by school and GPA. If I end up starting in a better role/firm then I think it will be worth the extra tuition and time, since it seems like your first role really dictates your mobility after.

I'm gonna add to this that I recently had a pretty bad experience with losing an internship offer hence why I am sensitive to GPA. I interviewed really well and leveraged my other experience to get it, and everyone I met seemed to like me. Turns out there was an arbitrary GPA cutoff enforced by HR so they ended up pulling my offer a few days before my start.
