during a beer conversation, a friend told me about an idea for a niche market and said that we both should get on board with it.

If i told him that ill take his idea and design and make a working prototype for him to sell to the said niche market and if he does a little bit in the process of design like suggesting placement, how would I fill out the
patent?
I'm pretty sure on the business side he gets half of the profit, but do I sign my name alone on the patent?

take into consideration that no matter how airtight your patent is, unless it's pharmaceutical someone will just redesign it anyway

I doubt your idea is that groundbreaking that you will become billionaires so it probably doesn't matter, just tell us what it is

Fuck off with your idiot patent on some useless shit you and your boyfriend will never do. This is about pepenomics.

so the patent should be under my name then since i did most of the work? cool.

the idea is a sturdy gelatin that retains its integrity under heat that is shaped in a cylinder like apparatus and used for suppository applications.

Similar situation to OP, i have an idea for a product in a niche market but i have no means of making the auctal product. So what are the steps that i have to go through to design and sell this product? I have had intrest from several people just no prototypes to show validity.

Cutter for joint tips, planning on selling it as a promotional items to cannabis companies so they can print their info on it thus advertising directly to their intended customer base. Its the first of its kind and the fact that it can be used as a swag item apart of conventions will help sell itself even more.

It cuts and rolls the tip from any inserted paper. Cigar cutters cut the tips off already made cigars, this cuts and rolls the tip (roach) so that you can put it inside the joint.

I don't see it being a thing family, rolling a roach takes like 5 seconds, why would you carry a little machine to do it for you?

Start an S Corp, put the patent in the name of the S Corp and assign yourself shares that you and your partners agree on.

>> No.982479

>>982010
Think of it as a promotional item more so, half the shit you dont use in swag bags that you get in conventions. But companies will pay to print their name on whatever related products for name recognition.Currently there are no related products for cannabis except for lighters which are a bit more expensive compared to other swag items. It does a bunch of other things to the roach and it will have other features as well. But the rolling and cutting of the roach is what we are building the other features off of.
>>982104
I already registered the patent to myself, but thank you for giving more reading to do. But honestly think i am far away from incorporating anything. Just a pipe dream for now (No pun intended)

So you're going to build everything while your friends gets half of the profit? This is very amateurish / imbalanced of a partnership and usually happens when skill guy (useful) teams up with business / idea guy (useless.)

Protip: ideas aren't worth shit.
