Unironically this happened to me. Blessed with abundant talent, intellect, empathy... Slowly I came to use them for myself only and pushed away and snubbed a lot of people who wanted to learn from me or be my friend because of these qualities. As I did this, a lot of bad things started to happen to me, around me and because of me. You have to pay bills to live, you need money. Once again, living in the right neighborhood is extremely important. Living in the wrong one can be a life or death situation. A decent, not even great, neighborhood in America requires a considerable sum of money to live in nowadays.

To respond to the scripture, all I'm asking for is a decent standard of living. Not shit, but not extravagant either, which is a foolish way of utilizing wealth. Living in destitute is demoralizing to the human condition.
...but the only way I see that will enable me to maintain a decent standard of living is to CARE about money.
