Uhhhhh
Writing a protocol in another language is something a monkey can do
Companies outsource this kind of word to pajeets because you literally just copy algorithms other people made
Whats difficult is developing protocols and algorithms, the language used for implementation is trivial.

Why would a golang VM cause a 100x? Why would it cause the price of Dero to rise at all? Also, why isn't the golang VM anywhere in their roadmap?

If the Dero devs have the ability to speed the blockchain back up to 2 second times, couldn't they just change it to literally whatever the hell they wanted? The could make it a MONTH time and freeze the entire blockchain!

>b-but they wouldn't do that! just trust them! :^)

Building a new cryptonote-alternative sounds pants-on-head crazy.

I work at a major software company and common knowledge is DONT WRITE YOUR OWN CRYPTO because you will fucking get it wrong and it will be vulnerable in some incredibly subtle way.

If one of the secret devs is not a phd qhose research specializes in cryptography then I think it seems kind of scary to use something that depends on a new cryptography scheme cooked up by them on their free time for their passion project.

The DVM (Dero Virtual Machine) will be out on testnet Q2 and on Mainnet Q3.

The 3 sec block time (500 TPS) require already 10 Mb/s (1.2MB/s), not every county could run it, so dev change it to 9 sec for the low bandwidth requirement or high latency : only 2 Mbit/s (120 TPS)

Change this value require just a soft fork (daemon update),

Dero can already achieve 2 sec block time but this require a very good bandwidth and latency.

>> No.9700020

The testnet Q2 is already out. Is DVM already out? Why don't I see anything about this in their forum, roadmap, or anywhere?

Dero.io > Roadmap > Second Quarter-2018 > SC testing.

Do you know SC need VM to run ? Testnet isn't out, it's an intern version for now

Public testnet will be out with Dero Atlantis during Q2.

So technically speaking you will be able to write your first SC and Dapp short after Atlantis release.

Any estimate how many coins will be killed by Dero?

>> No.9700431

Or it can end killing itself. I hodl some and have faith in the project, but what >>9699866 said is true. Many things could happen...

>> No.9700496

...what? But you just said the smart contracts can't be run without the DVM. If you can already run test smart contracts with Dero Atlantis, doesn't that mean the DVM is already finished?

>> No.9700514

>>9700496
Atlantis release is in a few days, Q2 end is at end of this month

Yeah a software house full of boomers longing for retirement should NOT write their own cryptographic functions.
But a team of 10yrs+ crypto researchers can use existing cryptographic functions to create a new blockchain protocol...

Still not sure why you would use a programming language made by google for a "privacy" coin. Of all languages they could of picked, they choose golang? Why? This gives me the impression that it's one of those coins that doesn't really care about privacy and is just gonna default to 0 mixins and just added it as an extra feature to get more retards to buy (like Verge).

Devs are C ninjas, Golang is known as Modern C for distrusted computing in mind (cloud computing, security, modern architecture and so on.)

We are all lucky to be in this early

>> No.9701767

When the hell is this coin going to DO something? IoTeX just pulled a 4x out of nowhere, NKN is primed for a boost once it gets on Binance, 0xBTC is up massively, and even with a new protocol launch in less than week, Dero is barely up 25% and primed to MASSIVELY DUMP once the ASICs are bricked.

No decent exchanges, no advertising, and no community support.

This project is dead on arrival.

IdealCash (DEAL) has 2 second transaction times and has a market cap of $1mil. I don't get you faggots. You all want to invest in Chad/Stacy coins while Chad's and Stacy's are dumping on you. That's /biz/ in a nutshell.
