Why is it a such a big deal? It's a way for the industry to have more say in shaping policy and regulation. Which is great, absolutely, but it has no direct impact on the Jibrel buisness model. Joining a consortium to lobby governments is a logical and common move, it's not particularly worthy of praise.

Absolutely, you are right. But again, this is a lobbying group and not a meaningful co-operation with the companies involved outside of lobbying regulators and shaping policy. As for the bithumb listing, I agree that it's not massive for the end-goal of Jibrel but it would be massive for PR purposes and spreading awareness of the project.
