I like to buy bulk, So what I do is shop around for large bags of frozen vegetables (mixed veggies, broccoli, etc), frozen skinless chicken, frozen tilapia (cheaper than dirt), giant bags of rice, pasta, and oatmeal. Now for fresh meats, What I like to do is if there's anything I find vacuum sealed, I take tons of, because that can last ages in the refrigerator (and an eternity in the freezer). Once I check out vacuum sealed stuff, anything else fresh meat related I will usually pick up on meat close to expiration. (stores like walmart and target will mark down meat, even tenderloin, down $3 or more because the shelf life ends the next day). Buy all of the markdowns you can, then shove those into the freezer first.

Also if you can get eggs in bulk, get eggs in bulk. Anything close to expiring you can hard boil, and hard boiled eggs are a killer snack.

Top that shit off with large bags of apples, a stock of bananas, baby carrots, and yogurt boxes. You're fucking set. All that's left is to buy whatever kinds of spices, oils, and seasonings you want and craft magic.

Life is too short to live like that. Buy a couch, dummy. A nap on a couch on Sunday afternoon is a better use of your time and money than living on cheap plastic patio furniture. Start monitoring craigslist, there are dumb people giving away perfectly good furniture cheap, or even free.

There's /frugal, then there's autism.

I just don't waste money. If I buy something, i buy quality. If something breaks, I fix it myself, if I can. I live well, but not hedonistically. I eat well, but healthy food. I don't waste money on cable, movies, books, or video games - not when torrenting is a thing, and VPNs are cheap.

My budget is simple: rent, food, insurance, internet, phone, everything else. I have things down to the penny. The cell phone is next - I convinced myself I *needed* a smart phone, but I don't - once this contract is up, I'm going back to a flip phone. All the shit I do on my phone, I can do on wifi without the phone enabled. My insurance is $50 a month, rental insurance included. I spend $30-40 a week on food. I overpay a little on rent, for a nice place in a safe area, and I can afford it. I don't date anymore, because most women will fuck you or won't fuck you, "dating" isn't a thing anymore. And it's a waste of money taking a cunt to an expenisive restaurant if she's decided she's not going to fuck me anyway - she needs to get naked before I'll even consider it, and most of the time, after I fuck them, I don't bother. And it doesn't really seem to make any difference, so fuck it.

I have over quarter of a million in investments, I same money every month and add to it, and I can afford 3x my monthly bills before I need to think about cutting back. I don't do 'stuff", I hate clutter, and I don't waste money. I live well within my means, I budget even though I don't need to, and I don't indulge in mindless spending.

You eat shit eaters if you eat a lot of seafood - catfish, shellfish, shrimp, lobsters, they're all scavangers and eat literal shit.

At least with a fish, you don't eat the digestive system, where the shit is still in shit form. You eat the flesh, where the shit has been converted into proteins. You're not eating anything even resembling shit at that point, but if you want to be autistic...but with a clam, you're literally eating fish shit.

>> No.9486578

>>9486454
Living in a van to me is a capitualting to the basic task of providing oneself shelter. If you can't afford a basic apartment, you're doing it wrong, unless you're trying to survive in a city like SF where rent is so disconnected with reality it's surreal.

It sounds like fun, but it's really not. At least try to get to the level of renting a spot in an RV park. (Which would cost as much as rent in most areas)

The only non-traditional living spaces worth it right now is live-aboard boats. But there's a lot of scammers trying to offload floating wrecks, you gotta educate yourself before jumping in. And be into boating - I love the idea of living on board during the work week in the marina, and then taking off all weekend. With the right boat and the right marina, it can be pretty affordable in SF or LA or SD. Just pay for a storage locker on shore for shit you don't want to lose if it sinks, and you're good to go. And, don't look at the boat as an investment, plan on losing money when you get tired of it and sell it, unless you're good at using tools and rehab an old boat and fix it up - which most marinas frown on in the slips, but if you go out offshore a ways, you can do anything above the waterline and in the cabin.

agreed i slept on the floor for a while too.
the reason i got hammock is to not be exposed to the dust on the floor. if you sleep on floor you need to vacuum a lot more often. and of course bugs/roaches are bad.

the problem with sleeping on carpet, even if you're on blankets and shit, is that you're very close to dust mites that live in the carpet. they eventually crawl on your blankets/pillows.

so that's the reason why sleeping on the floor sucks. it is good for back though, to be on a hard surface. the koreans and japs sleep on the floor i believe.

the worst part about cigs is the additives and the tar. even you smoke a pure organic brand like american spirits, there's tons of tar. use a targard if you want to see, or look up pics of tar gettin trapped in a targard.

problem with a targard is its made of plastic. so given that i don't want to suck on a plastic targard and i don't want tar, i quit cigs all together.

nicotine will fuck your shit up long-term because your brain gets too used to it so you need to smoke more to get the same effect.

Yep. My mom died of lung cancer - her oncologist told me to start vaping, just to stop breathing in tar - as he said, "it's not the nicotine that kills you, it's the smoke."

I like nicotine, to me it's like caffeine, and it's a mild central nervous stimulant - and the addiction part goes away fast when you get off cigs. i can not vape for days and not even think about it - I rarely vape when I'm out doing shit, or at work, or whatever, it's usually only when I'm sitting at home at the computer. It's one of my vices, and I look at it as reducing the risk and harm significantly. I vape, and drink coffee, I don't drink or do drugs. I think it's fine. I'm not gonna live forever, and whatever harm I did, was already done from years of smoking. YOLO, and all that.

everything you said is from the perspective of a person who wants to continue living within societal boundaries. if that's true for you, go for it. go create value, exchange and consume using the value you accumulate. not everyone wants to play that game. some of us are looking to get out.

not everyone wants power, faggot. not everyone cares about this societal notion of value.

there is freedom to be enjoyed outside of these words and socially-constructed ideas. but you wouldn't understand that. you're a cuck for the system. so go on and continue "being creative". if you were creative you wouldn't be wasting time here.

this idea that you have to make a lot of $$$money$$$ to impress girls with fancy furniture is only something believed by betacucks who have weak physique. this is why he's getting so angry at me over my love of sleeping in a hammock. i'm not even shilling it heavily, i agree it could be bad for people's back, it depends. look at the screenshot i used up top, the search keywords.

good for you. enjoy breathing in those chemicals. also, small bugs adapt quickly to pesticides, next generations will be less affected. lastly, even if you're clean, your neighbors might not be, so the bugs or whatever --they have can spread to your place.

pic related. you're free to look into it yourself. clearly you're shitposting and trying to get me upset by calling me poor and incel. i guess next time i get pu$y i'll have to remember to take a pic with my /biz/ ID, time stamp, etc. just to prove you types of pusy-worshipping anons wrong. then perhaps we can have a serious discussion on useful info.

anyway, enjoy your AIDs. i believe all that Varg has shared in his vids, and my life is so much better through being frugal and living simpler.

Since this thread has gotten off track I'll contribute a bit more:

For clothing I only wash my socks /underwear/undershirts after I've worn them at least 3-4 times. Pants, buttoning shirts and sweaters can be washed every few months. More if you don't sweat a lot. Let your clothes air out between wearing them.

Especially for you non underlayers. NEVER put them in the dryer. Air dry only and wash on cold in the sink.

When at home wear a minimal amount of clothing to minimize the need for spending money on washing them. Never wear your going out clothing unless people are over.

>> No.9488401

I can actually go 5-6 wears before needing to wash my underwear/undershirts. Went from doing laundry once every other week to once a month or so.

Just use more deodorant.

Fuck I came to this late. There's a lot of things you can do to save money. I saw people went over food. You can also use stuff like baking soda, vinegar, and the like to make cleaning products, toothpaste. Pretty much shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, cleaners, and colognes have cheap DIY analogues. Large appliances can be replaced too. Hand wash dishes using a spray nozzle for less water use. An induction stove/plates are much more efficient than gas stoves. Buy dry food and downsize the fridge/freezer. You can make a stationary bike into a washing machine. Use clothesline for drying clothes. Use power strips and flip the switch off to prevent phantom loads that add 10% to your monthly electric bill. Eating and living healthier leads to lower healthcare bills. Smaller electronics like TV and laptops use less electricity. One benefit of electronics is that a phone can replace many things we used to buy like post it reminders, notebooks, calendars, clocks, compass, etc. There's many little tricks you can do. Then be smart with your money avoiding credit cards, interest, and rent, and you'll be way ahead of the consumer plebs.

Time is money. The time you waste moving your billion objects that you never look at or use is money. The time it takes you to acquire all of this crap that you never use is money. What is this "minimalism=sociopathy" bullshit having excess shit complicates your lifestyle, you don't have to go crazy with minimalism and lose all life comforts but it can be ridiculously efficient to look into. Humans just aren't built to keep track of this much crap the fact that you guys unironically consider getting rid of your shit amoral is indicative of just how hard modern advertising and this ridiculous excess lifestyle has cucked you.

There's a comfort in not having shit that you're responsible for but don't care about filling up your surroundings. But of course not wanting to show your dick off to the world and impress idiots makes you a psychopath. Make sure you spend lots of money, people who don't buy lots of stuff aren't happy goy!
