yea i only had 1000 as well. not gonna get all flustered by it. im leaving behind the equities markets for now. going back to extracting wealth from SLV contracts. got a really good plan to start harvesting increased volatility in SLV.

im getting back to my roots as well. this was my most profitable trades this year ($ wise) was on SLV and USO. gonna focus in on that.

personally, im trying something a little different than i used to though. trying to build a large position of 600+day strangles at really low IVs. if its moving up today ill buy more. but if i can get an average IV of like 18 on my strangle, and it starts going crazy, ill have made about 100% right there (even if the underlying stays still) just from the vega

Imagine it’s $10/trade so $20 to buy and sell a position. You go all-in for a $400 position. You need to make 5% just to break even. So not only are you handicapped there but you also need to take massive risks (going all-in on one buy) just to profit.
When I went to robinhood I started making double what I was making on etrade. I keep the account with $1 so I can use their data. But robinhood is fucking god-tier cost cutting.

Depends on how volatile the stock is, and if you're going long on it. If you believe IQ will really become as successful as NFLX, then hold it forever. I typically cut losses at 5%, but for some things you might believe that's the bottom. For example my $V calls are down 9% right now, but I expect them to balloon back up within the next week (hopefully)
