Kek, not even Oracle Corp. needs or plans to sell fucking oracles.

>> No.9393297

Seriously though. The problem I have with chainlink is what if a bigger team comes along and makes a better product? With how slowly link is moving seems like it could happen.
Thoughts?

bask in the link cope. you heard the man, oracles are n o t n e e d e d. prepare for the BTFOing of a lifetime june 2nd when you see what we're truly capable of.

>> No.9393662

oracles are needed, but true oracles. chainlink is just yet another rehash of a centralized oracle, completely uninteresting and derivative.

when we see a true decentralized oracle we'll know.

xmr is 100% replaceable when better privacy tech comes along. you think anyone that needs privacy is going to be using monero if their simple mixing algorithm gets broken?

I don't follow shit projects. That's cool that it's being released in June, but it won't come close to being on the same level as ethereum. Even if it does, eos will still need an oracle for off-chain data.

if interblockchains make oracles obsolete and project like ChainLink useless im in deep shit.

>> No.9394092

>>9394057
it's guaranteed to happen, either monero gets broken, or a significantly better privacy coin or better yet, token, gets released and monero usage drains up. the question isn't if, it's when.

right now, it's the only privacy coin worth using by a long shot, but it's also the most replaceable.

You're fucked when they release IP obfuscation and Kovri project finishes. Bulletproofs and ledger hardware wallet support. XMR is as solid of a project as it gets if you want to gamble go to the casino and put it all on black. Fuck outta here brainlet.

>> No.9394128

>>9394087
even if it doesn't, chainlink is still a worthless oracle. centralized oracles are simply unnecessary, which is why any centralized oracle project doesn't try and hide the fact that it's centralized like chainlink does, and most of the real research is into market based decentralized oracles.

we already have signatures, it's what makes blockchains possible. we don't need to badly reinvent them with a decentralized network that serves no purpose when the oracle is still a single point of failure.

>> No.9394155

>>9394124
i dont know what point you're trying to make, yeah, monero is a solid project, but it's not a safe place to store wealth, it's a decentralized mixing platform. your money should be stored elsewhere, and the best privacy coin at the time should be your checking account.

>gamble
im exactly not gambling by storing unsafe amounts of money in a niche single purpose coin, just using it as it's intended.

Larimer said his blockchain, eos, wouldn't need an oracle to interact with other blockchains. Now, for a dribbling mongoloid that might seem like it means oracles are useless, but he didn't say anything about off-chain data which is far more important. Eos still needs an oracle to interact with real world data. I'm done replying, this is clearly over your head which is very sad. Goodluck with the upcoming crash in June, remember to sell low.
