Oil will continue to recover as long as dunecoons and other producers can refrain from dumpling their stockpiles which I know won’t be for more than 1 year.

Whatever you're comfortable with spending. That said with small amounts you're not going to be able to do much and even if you do well they won't really impact you all that much.

$100 can only really get you like 2-4 shares in the average company.

if dollar keeps rising, gold will fall. but if there is a sudden panic, it will go for a run.

so far, no real panic, but interest rate hikes WILL cause the dollar to strengthen (initially), so i believe that until we see a real shitshow (or until rates stop coming in, which wont be till the end of the year), gold will move down somewhat.

its important to remember how gold essentially works as an inverse to the dollar. shorting the dollar in a rising rate environment is a bad idea.

until things change, i think it would be best to do what baggy is doing and short gold for now.

thats the part we dont see eye to eye on.
the FED doesnt really care about the markets. their job is to control the US economy. the market is just a part of it. the problem i see is that we should have been trying to hike rates a while ago, but yellen loved zero too much.
