Not the same, though. It would be like some disgruntled Uber employees leaving to form a new ridesharing company called Über. Then Über would parade around saying they're the actual incarnation of the founding principles of Uber. Uber vs Über. If BCH can stand on its own merits, why try to mislead people about the brand?

It's a fork of the original coin, thus it is bitcoin in some regard as they both share the both chain up until the split. Same genesis block same coin. It has a larger block size which means more transactions can take place which makes sense to use as more and more people are adopting it as is intended.

Aye, there are two versions of Bitcoin, Bitcoin (BCH) and Bitcoin (BTC). One of them got to keep the old ticker.

Both have their own idea for how to scale Bitcoin. Personally I think BCH's solution will win since simplicity usually beats complexity.

Bitcoin with segwit and lightning network are just adding third parties into the mix which defeats the original purpose.

They are doubling down pretty hard so I dunno. Probably once BCH is worth more than BTC in USD many of them will turn. Other than that they can't be reasoned with.

>>9273572
I don't see it, discussing it in this thread:
>>9271171

Chances are you are the one posting there? Anyway head on over and try to explain how Nano will beat BCH, so far I don't see it! Let's keep it in 1 thread.

Long before bch reaches parity with btc the btc chain will be frozen. So if that's what it takes for them to change their minds, they're going to lose everything. Good lesson in the consequences of falling victim to propaganda and trusting in authority on something you don't understand yourself.

if it freezes the value will drop to 0 within days because EVERYBODY will want to sell but they can't.

>>9274152
+ BTC has a difficulty that makes on average 1 new block every 10 minutes.
+ The difficulty updates every 2016 blocks.
+ If 99% of the hashrate would suddenly leave to, say, Bitcoin Cash the difficulty would remain.
+ Now it takes 1000 minutes to mine just ONE block.
+ The rest of the miners would start leaving because it takes over 16 hours just to see who gets the block reward.
+ It now takes infinite minutes to mine 1 block.
+ Result: BTC is frozen in time.

Bitcoin Cash doesn't have this problem, they update the difficulty after each and every block (not every 2016 blocks).

Yes, correct, so it will actually be more like trending relatively slowly downwards while bch rises followed by an abrupt drop to effectively zero when even the slowest or most fanatical core adherents finally figure out they've been had.

that's just the thing, pray there won't be an answer to that question

(If BCH becomes worth more than BTC there will be an answer.)
