You set the exchange with the other party. Could be a wire, transfer, credit, whatever is at your disposal. The escrow locks the crypto until both parties agree the terms have been met.

Watching this exchange grow will be the most exciting thing about crypto for me this year. This thing has immense potential, especially when they start adding all kinds of currencies and the bigger coins.

If you are selling the crypto, you will not agree to the trade until you see the money. If the money does not arrive, or is not what was agreed on, you submit a dispute in which 3 escrow nodes gather the information/proof y'all provide and make a decision as any escrow service does. An example of proof, the buyer could submit a statement from his bank showing the funds have been sent to details provided by the seller, with transaction number to be verified by the escrow nodes.

>> No.9209118

>>9209010
Once you've checked your bank account and confirmed that the USD transfer has arrived, you log into your Payfair account and click to confirm the money has arrived. This lets the smart contract know it's OK to release the ETH from escrow and send it to the buyer's wallet.

When this thing reaches localbitcoins level it's going to pull you 1k a month with one node.
So even if you're not going to be immediately looking at a ton of money with one node, it's still going to bring in a comfy amount of income and has potential for so much more.
Not to mention these coins are going to be a lot more expensive once this thing is making money.
It's not a bad idea to fork out money for one node at this point and then just forget it for a year.

In theory this has incredible potential.
I do agree there are many bugs to iron out and they need to add all of the big players there as fast as they can, along with creating mobile friendly platform, but the only way from here is up.
This is about as close to the ground floor as you can get with a project like this.

Why not get an escrow node then? You only need $250 dollars worth of PFR. Escrow nodes will be more profitable than trust nodes in the short term, until the volume starts to pick up. You earn 1% of any trade you successfully arbitrate on, so if you're lucky enough to be chosen as an escrow node for a $1000 dollar trade, you'll get $10 for just a few minutes' work. If you're honest and fair In your rulings, you can grow your reputation and then the algorithm will prioritise you in the queue for new escrow cases.

So much FUD and Shills here, let's discuss this unopinionated.
Yes, there are bugs on the site and it's pathetic, however this is why they didn't advertise the launch. Marketing will start after ALL bugs are fixed.
No, this is no scam, the developers don't get a fucking penny from you buying their token, you don't fucking need the token to use the site, they only get a very small % from the 1% fee.

Everybody who thinks this will give you lambos magically overnight is in the wrong place, you shouldn't even dream about this reaching 1 million trading volume in the first month because it won't, maybe 1000$ daily trading volume IF you're lucky.
However, it is a WORKING product and as you can see I and other people already had successful trades.

quick question about payfair (this might be over /biz/'s head)
this is an escrow service where to make an exchange, the funds are sent to a third party and then to the seller of a good/service?
how does the escrow service play a part in the good/service being exchanged? does the service/good go to the escrow as well and once the escrow has verified the quality of both the good/service and the funds both of those are released to their respective destinations?
so if i want to buy a used laptop and the seller says it's in basically new condition, we decide to use payfair, I send the escrow the money, the seller sends the escrow the laptop. the escrow verifies the quality of the money and the laptop, the escrow then sends both the money and the laptop to their destinations and gets a fee for his work/trust?
if the laptop was bad, then the escrow would say so, send the laptop back to the seller, and the money back to the buyer?

Let's say you buy crypto with fiat first.
1 ETH for 1000 USD for example

The seller has 1 ETH in his Payfair wallet, once you both accept the deal the 1 ETH is locked

Then you give him the 1000 USD via bank, cash or whatever, after he receives it, 1% of the 1 ETH goes towards the fees and the rest goes to you. Might be that you only pay 990$ and the 1% is then deducted from the ETH, I'm not sure. EIther way you will receive 0.99 ETH in your payfair wallet.

If there is now a dispute like the seller says he didnt receive the money via bank transfer, you call the escrow service, you provide proof and they decide who is in the right and then funds can be released, fee is increased to 3% however. The escrow nodes get a bit of that.

With goods it will be quite similar, you will only be able to buy them with crypto so % from the crypto goes to the nodes

>>9212689
No, I sold for cash, there's not much volume atm to make a lot of money with the nodes

>> No.9212839

>>9212715
I'm assuming the person sending the fiat also needs to lock up some payfair? If he doesn't then he can just not send the fiat and keep trying the escrow service with fake screenshots or whatever until he gets the crypto.
Or the seller can just dispute after receiving the fiat and have a chance of getting his crypto back.
