I've seen people posting their deposit addresses left and right on this board.

How unsafe is this?

if he's dumb enough to do that he's prolly dumb enough to leak more information either by accident or by social engineering (hack) from another person. Have you ever tried scamming a noob on runescape? It's not hard

pasting public addresses in general isn't dangerous, its only dangerous when you reveal more information such as this address is this public figures main btc address etc... you can generate an address anytime and dispose of it anytime so when people post an address its usually a recently generated one. You can publicly look up every single address on the blockchain, theres nothing stopping anyone from doing that. Also if you're generating a private key (ex, paperwallet) on your pc make sure to disconnect from the internet while doing it
