My team supervisor and my manager and several of my coworkers are Blumpf bashers and all around feminist progressives (we're in UK btw) and I have great relations with them while being a raging /pol/ack through the art of being polite, smiling to them and engaging in small talk about entertainment and company matters and just nodding whenever they say something I could disagree with.

Just smile, nod and don't shit where you eat, you're in there to earn money and not to get in bed with them.

They do, both in company-sponsored restaurant outings and some more private events. Same rules apply. In general, most normies, progressive or otherwise, aren't that eager to talk about progressive/politicised matters and most conversations end up being about life experiences or entertainment. If you don't have any interesting stories about former (I do which is probably why I'm getting invited) then brush up on the latter.

It was very appealing moving from the small rural town I grew up in but after too many years here I've grown to hate it. I would much rather live in a small community with people I care about as opposed to a city full of people I don't like.
