Where is the bandwidth coming from and who is footing the bill for network resources?

I am a professional software engineer and can go read their code. It's poor quality and demonstrates to anyone who has written networking software that they are amateurs who don't know what they are doing.

>It's free and open source.

The project is on Github but it has no open source license. Your claim of it being open source is patently false.

>It's faster as it uses an improved internet protocol (MLPS) instead of IP/TCP, which is 35 years old.

This sentence is completely meaningless conman talk that demonstrates no understanding of the terms it is using or the causes of slowness in a network.

Skycoin is a shitcoin and people need to stay the fuck away from it.

Skycoin's developers have been around for 5 years. They're so into Bitcoin they don't even need this project. All of them are insanely, incredibly wealthy as it is.

Why do Skycoin? Because they have a firm understanding of the flaws of the TCP/IP system and its centralization.

The points in OP's point are actually very valid.
>It's free and open source.
>The project is on Github but it has no open source license. Your claim of it being open source is patently false.

You are right. I have addressed this and will expect an answer. You see, I am sw engineer too and it is strange not to have the license nowhere, but I also know it takes seconds to add it, so I won't sell my SKY out of panic because of it.

>It's faster as it uses an improved internet protocol (MLPS) instead of IP/TCP, which is 35 years old.
I think it was a bad idea to refer to IP/TCP as bad because it is old when MLPS is 20 years old, but it is indeed faster, and more when applied to meshnets
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiprotocol_Label_Switching

Anyway, the point of Skywire (I don't really care about the coin actually) is not speeds, but censorship and network neutrality. It will not replace the actual Internet, but being a parallel channel where things like 4chan could exist in countries where no one can speak freely. Also it tries to remove the ISP role (to some extend), though for me the only of its promises that matters it the neutrality and freedom.

I too hope that it'll make it for the same reason. It's still in the early stages but even so it's gaining enough traction to turn a profit anyway.

Dear /biz/,

Try not to fall for any Skycoin FUD you've been seeing. There's some sort of coordinated effort to keep this project suppressed

In one hand, buy low sell high. In the other hand, Skycoin was (to some extend still is) an extremely easy target: the skyminer that does not mine, the crappy memes from the telegram, the ambition of its promises.

But the missing open source license must be corrected asap, if someone from the team is reading. No excuses.

What's pathetic, the shitty naming (just calling it skynode would have been better) or me for pointing past mistakes? I have a DYI skyminer myself and would never consider it a miner.

>> No.8928861

>>8928749
wait, so you are saying it's a target of a coordinated attack because of misinformation on miners and memes??? there is something really wrong with people if this is what they are attacked on

I am saying SKY has been attacked heavily since I know it exist because it invested too little effort in explaining what it is and tries to accomplish to dummies, while letting smart money know it can become very valuable, so it received attack from both fronts. The naming of "skyminer" is a really idiotic example, and the 1BTC to confirm how reliable the buyer is was another mistake (hell, provide the whitelisting or pre-buillt machine to github contributors, known Uni teachers, journalists, etc. and all shitstorm could have been avoided). Also there is no excuse in the eternity is taking to have the coin in famous exchanges, while relying for a long time on Craptopia, etc. (again, no effort apart from the technical one, what affects the image).

>>8928929

Well, I hope "it prints money", but there are no benchmarks nor confirmed profitability. Waiting for that with mi orange pies ready though.
I am not bothered about the name, I really don't care, it is just a marketing fiasco. But hey, even Apple have a dozen of those.

yeah you are correct with your assesment, the sky team could have done things better, but I think it's hypocritical to attack them on standards that don't exist in crypto, if you compare them with crypto projects, very few actually stand at a better place.

And also this is apparently the reason it isn't open source. WHO is copying Skycoin? NOBODY. He keeps saying unsubstantiated shit like this 24/7. This guy is a total idiot or just trying to deceive people.

Skycoin is absolutely a long shot and is basically vaporware right now, but that's what everyone is doing with other shitcoins, we know the risks, but the reward (cheap, fast, decentralized, uncensored internet) is worth it.

This >>8928749
I think its ridiculous to call your miner a miner when its technically a miner but doesn't mine any coins. Because people assume a miner mines coins. But what they don't assume is that a miner secures the network, that most blockchains then reward these miners with coins is something completely different but.. oke. People are always confused on that, I was aswell in the beginning but it makes sense.
