Is it really that stupid considering that I can sell this car for 40k$ in a few years? I know you guys are shitting on everyone who isn't frugal - I'd never buy a supercar like a lambo no matter how much money I had, but Porsches don't depreciate in value as quickly.
If I take care of this car I can get 2-4 years of driving a Porsche for 10k$+maintenance costs, which doesn't seem that terrible considering that I don't have anything other to look forward in life.

As a guy who owns an exotic I can honestly say that buying a brand new and expensive car with your net worth isn't the wisest choice you can make... At first sure, youll love your new car and love the attention but you can drive a literal mclaren and after a couple of months the excitement will wear out. I bought a C7 and after two months I wanted to sell it. Just rent one using turo on the weekends if youre really pressed for one, and invest your money in something, I assume you're from Europe (UK?)

If I ever come to the point where I can cash out 200k+, I'm buying myself an older, used Cayman 2.7. They go for like €20k-€30k here. I don't think I would spend 50k on a car at this age (I'm 22), but that's also because I won't be driving it a lot. Public transport here is superb and the distances not that far. It might be a different story for you, being in the States.

Buy a slightly used former lease car. 1-2 years old lease return will be in excellent condition and save you many many thousands of dollars off new sticker price. Also cars really aren't good investments and I don't recommend purchasing with an eye to future resale value. It's better to get something with a reputation for mechanical durability and relatively inexpensive average annual repair cost.

If i had 350k burning a whole in my wallet I would use 150K of it to buy a second flat and rent it out. Put remainder in to safe investments.

The most intelligent E-Class family of all time welcomes a powerful new member to the dynasty. The E400 Sedan model arrives this year, boasting a 3.0L V6 biturbo engine producing 329 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque — the same powertrain that currently drives its E400 Coupe, Cabriolet and 4MATIC Wagon cousins. Paired with the 9-G-TRONIC 9-Speed automatic transmission and DYNAMIC SELECT, it promises a bracingly smooth way to experience uncommon luxury. Naturally, the 2018 E400 Sedan continues the tradition of E-Class brilliance. Harmonizing advanced automotive intelligence with awe-inspiring interior design, its first-class furnished cabin puts our advanced vehicle systems right at your fingertips — even as its world-class innovations continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in the world of automotive intelligence. "Car-to-X" Communication enables the E-Class to exchange information with similarly equipped vehicles — effectively allowing it to "see" around corners and through obstacles to detect potential hazards. Driver Assistance Systems — including Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC®, Active Steering Assist and Active Lane Change Assist — feature intelligent cruise control: They help keep you between the lines, and can even help you shift between them. Inside, the E-Class cabin provides an environment of pure comfort and responsive technology. Flowing lines and vibrant screens provide a striking visual display, while touch controls, aromatherapy and tailored seats indulge all of your senses at once. It's a vehicle that demands to be driven, and more than lives up to the dream. Look for the E400 4MATIC Sedan at your Mercedes-Benz dealership this winter, with an MSRP of $58,900.

You can blow your money however you want, wether it's hookers and blow or a rich toy car, but consider a few things: (I'm past my fast car days, I get why you want this, so for what it's worth...)

>Insurance
You want complete coverage, especially collision and theft. If this is your first fast car, the odds are you WILL crash it or someone will hit you, or it will be stolen. You said "flat", so you're going to street park a $50k car? That's low hanging fruit to car thieves. Plus, parking a car like that outside just hurts my head, the damage to the paint alone. And, at your age, with a car like that? You may have problems getting any insurance, on paper it's a loss to the insurance company, you're just "liability" in red letters all over the form.

>Practicality
This isn't a daily driver, especially in a big city - see above. This is a weekend car. (Having a garage comes into play here, too) You're going to have major hassles shopping in this, taking trips, doing anything that isn't joyriding. Wanna buy a shelving unit for you new flat at IKEA? Good luck with that. This is where it makes more sense to rent cars like this.

>Usability
Have you ever driven a car like this? Do you know how? Go take some advanced driving courses, please, so you don't kill yourself or someone else. Too much engine in too little car with an unexperienced driver is just fucking dangerous. If you have ever driven drunk, this car will be your coffin, period.

>Fantasy
You probably have dreams of the thotts who you'll be fucking with this car. Hey, you might even do it, god knows there are whores out there who cars like this impress - but your 300K? Won't last long with a woman like that. You'll need 300k coming in EVERY YEAR, to afford that kind of lifestyle. Trust me. Women who will fuck you because of this car? You can't afford yet. You'll learn, the first time you get a $1000 bill at a restaurant with her, because she ordered the most expensive food, wine, and dessert.

OP you are fool. Going to reveal your power level? Flat for 150k and 350k cash for 23yo fag is already picking up on radar. Buy a rental property, some beater car and live comfy off rent income.

Now, for some "older than you" advice:
(Disclaimer, I know this is probably a larp, but what the fuck, life advice is always good)

If you truly did make this amount, and you paid taxes on it that apply where you live, grats, you have a windfall that's once in a lifetime. The odds of another boom like Bitcoin saw last year is truly a once in a lifetime kind of event, thinking another will happen is silly and naive. You (if this is real) made it. You have more money than most of this forum will see in decades. You made one wise choice by buying a flat. Now, the spend bug is kicking in, and you need to be careful, because 300k is easy to blow through. Buying a car that you know you'll lose money on is exactly what young people do, when you could be investing that money across multiple markets, like stocks, bonds, gold, property, and removing the stress for grinding out rent and groceries and focusing on the rest of your life. You have no idea how valuable that is, because you're young, and money is burning a hole in your pocket. Take a deep breath, and don't spend any more significant amounts of money for 3-6 months. Think about what you really want in life. You have an opportunity here that few get. Just think about it. If you still want the car in 6 months, go buy it. Nothing will squash that bug at that point except doing it - and then what will be, will be. Been there, done that, I have some regrets, and some great memories.
Most likely you'll blow the money. It happens. And it might even be worth it. God knows I made a few mistakes like that when I was young, and you have your own path to follow - but try to listen to those who have been down it before - what you do now, will come back to haunt you or help you 10, 20, 30 years down the road. You can take your windfall and find yourself a millionaire at 35, or broke at 25 with no job prospects and having to sell your flat to survive.
Good luck. You'll need it.

I did it but with a first gen cayman, and I love it. I'm not as into crypto as everyone else on this board so I have a bit more standard income, and I'm saving for a 997 right now.

The only way a BMW will ever put 250k miles on the odometer is if said odometer came out of a junkyard with 150k miles already on it.

If it's stock then it (hopefully) hasn't been fucked up yet. It's like buying a '65 Impala in pristine condition vs. one that some nigger has cut the springs and put hydraulics in. You'd be out of your mind to pay $500 for the latter but the former is practically a classic. In short, you can always customize it but depending on what's been done, you can't "un"-customize.
