Market will not go much lower than 8% down because most stocks in China have a 10% daily limit.

The carnage will continue tomorrow unless Uncle Xi takes concrete steps. But maybe he's got nothing more he can do.

China has reserves of 3.7 trillion (down from 4 a year ago) but most of that money is not liquid money that can be readily used. Much of that money is defacto bank reserves for the state owned banks and pension reserves for china's pension system.

I'm guessing Xi allocated around 400B for saving the stock market and that money has run out. He doesn't want to risk the entire banking system and pension system for the sake of propping up stocks.

USA remains top dog. Emerging markets money will likely flow to India, Vietnam, and others not reliant on china I guess.

>> No.864412

>He doesn't want to risk the entire banking system and pension system for the sake of propping up stocks.
He will, because he has a house of cards to protect. But the recent financial downturn has put a strain on his power. This may end up in a coup. Also Asia is dependent on China. Either through production or financial stakes. This is why the old saying goes like this; when China sneezes, Asia catches a cold.

Nah. You're talking about East Asia.

Asia includes countries like Turkey, India, Iran, etc. who are not at all affected by China. China only affects countries that are a part of their supply chain: Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, etc. Of course, commodities will get hit if no one else picks up the demand that China has lost. But I'm guessing that a combination of USA, Iran, India, and others will pick up most of the slack sooner rather than later. .

What is happening is China's long-anticipated bubbles are popping, the Chinese government is burning off money to keep the index up which will contain some of the damage done today. They will however not be able to keep this up all week and by friday we should see some real shit go down.

I for one welcome our 1929 crash 2.0.

>Chinese market collapses
