Buyers on ebay are scumbags. I'm getting sick of sending items, getting positive feedback then the buyer just going "Whelp, The item doesn't match the description" a week or so later and ebay ALWAYS taking their side. Happened countless times now and I'm at the end of my rope with it.

I'm also getting fed up with how bloody aggressive buyers are. One person complained that something arrived damaged, I was perfectly happy to replace/refund but I would just like to see a picture of the damage to confirm the issue, the reply? "I don't need to send you anything, you know you sent a defective product, I refuse to send you a picture this is stupid. refund me now".

Nothing will usually happen but using these big legal words scares the shit out of them that the item magically appears.

I would have people tell me their kids paid with their credit card and that they didn't want the item but would obviously never send it back.

I told them that I have to report credit card fraud and that I would be cooperating with their local police. I wish I could see the pile of shit in their pants when I sent that because in that case I had her admitting her child performed credit card fraud right there.

Simply the buyer has to follow instructions to use the product, buyer won't do it and I want the case closed/feedback removed. Americans will 90% of the time refuse and tell me how I can "better my selling". The Indians play dumb but they understand fully and will do it. I mean, their jobs/livelihood are at stake, they wouldn't throw a favor to some stranger.

I'd expect vise-verse but it all depends on who you talk to.

I've found female American reps tend to get the job done.

Craigslist has a large flake percentage and everyone wants to haggle when they already agreed to a price. Plus I have to use my time.

With ebay once they pay me, I slap a label on it and hand it to the postman the next day. They can try to haggle with me using the offer option if they want, but I have it set to auto reject the min I will take for an item so it doesn't waste my time.

Since my main profit items are very small, I'm fine with paying the $2.04 to ship it. Listing costs make up like $0.02 of profit loss on each item even with all the subtitle, bold, and gallery plus.

Because it's not. I do about 35k/ year on ebay as a side job. It took me a couple hours to get my listings like I wanted them (I don't get questions about my items). Everything is pre-packaged (do it when product arrives, takes probably 2 hours), just needs a label slapped on in the morning and I drop them off at the blue box when I get in my car to go to my real job. About 15 minutes a day.

The only job I've ever had that was easier was a work study job in college where I got paid to watch TV and let the UPS guy in the door when he showed up.

Sure you work more if you're trying to flip garage sale items or auction finds, but even then, it should be less than 30 minutes per unique item.

I have a question about canceling an unclaimed payment.

Two days ago I bought something on eBay. The payment has remained unclaimed since then. I sent them a message yesterday asking if there was a problem, and telling them the payment was unclaimed. It's now been over 24 hours since I messaged them with no reply. On paypal I have the option to cancel the unclaimed payment. Should I wait any longer or just go ahead and cancel it? See that's a problem, in my current situation, everything is based on the space I have to hold things, as to shipping/competition.

I'd rather focus on a market I know is a little difficult to get into, than go work my ass off selling things I only make .20c on, or go looking for more capital somewhere else.

You must remember that not everyone likes buying from China. Also if eBay tends to delete feedbacks from Chinese sellers. So all those "My item never showed up" won't be there to stop the next buyer from buying.

Well for some it works, you should know that EVERYTHING IS BASED ON SHIPPING. Those big sellers you see on eBay aren't shipping anywhere near the price you are. They too have deals like the Chinese where they can ship things for dirt cheap since they ship hundreds daily.
