Popular brokers for stock trading:
Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

I would look at the long term macro picture.

Trump is doing his threats because he thinks they are legitimate (other countries devaluing their currencies so that the US can't compete).
He is a businessman with balls and wits. So that must mean those threats may very well be successful and force other countries to abide by his demands.

So, I would expect a weaker USD which may be a boon for commodities and emerging markets.
US markets may remain volatile but I wouldn't expect recession. Stay long on value stocks.

He’s not wrong. But I don’t think it’ll come to that. Tariffs were one of his campaign promises but only as a tool to get better trade deals. IIRC he admitted he’d drop the tariffs if they renegotiated the trade deals to get the US better terms. He’s just blowing smoke to bring them to the table in my opinion.

I've never had to think about it this much before, I have a general disgust for sporting goods stores in general (dick's, Dunham's, etc.) Because the stores are full of overpriced shit that are complete luxury items and most of them look like they are straight out of the 70's. Charging $100 for an under armour shirt, and $40 for a fucking basketball are not sustainable business models. If the bears are right and the bubble bursts, sporting goods will be forgotten about along with luxury cars and other unnecessary shit.

Someone posted this a few threads ago, but I don't think it's the same.

My understanding of the model is basically this: Day 2 close was higher than Day 1, showing an upswing in value. Day 3's close is lower than Day 2's low, and this should be judged as a "fluke", or, the lowest price to buy a climbing stock at.

EMH mooning! News came out this morning that EMH/VFF joint venture greenhouse in BC has received grow license.

Watch out for Namaste in next two weeks. They have completed Cannmart facility and sent in all required documentation for sales license. License typically goes through 8-12 business days after this proof of compliance package gets sent out by applicant (assuming all in order). Namaste also brought on three new directors to their board, a former employee of SpaceX and former employee of Seagrams among them.

You are looking at what happens when a wonderful company continuously prints more and more shares to toss at all the bids. You can literally just put a bid up for some shares at any price and they'll print some and eventually dump them to you when it's your turn. Then when the float gets too large, they just r/s to increase the value of your shares. Which they then can print more shares at higher values to just pass out to the bids behind yours. It's pretty cool because people short them, then when people start actually hitting the ask, the shorts cover via hitting the ask, and because it gets high more people short, but it keeps going up and moons.

Ok, i posted this a few weeks ago but I guess you weren't here. Listen up;

1. Drink large amounts of Smirnoff and OJ

2. Take top 20 dividend-earning stocks and assign them each to a number on a dartboard.

3. Throw three darts to narrow it down to three stocks then eliminate the worst 52-week performer.

4. With two stocks remaining, flip a coin for heads or tails, but do it in a best-of-7 series for more drama.

5. Buy Winner & profit

You are seven percent short the underlying and have practically no time decay. Keep in mind these are all instantaneous slopes and will constantly change as the rest of the problem space changes. The magnitude of fluctuations is affected by time to maturity and moneyness. At the money options have the largest magnitude of risk in everything but delta. Out of the money options have lower deltas and in the money options have higher deltas. At the money options have a delta of about 50%. The delta can be thought of as the probability of the option expiring in the money.

I've been watching IRBT since it fell off a cliff about a month ago, been slowly climbing since then. Overall it is much closer to its 52 week low than its 52 week high. It has had several dramatic spike ups and downs in the past year - the hope would be that pattern continues at least one more time over the next few months.

Thoughts?

If both options stay out of the money, your time decay will turn positive the closer you get to the expiry because you are short the option that's worth more. That is in fact where you will make all your money if you are right. Buying the further OTM option just reduces your risk. Your max loss is at 17.5+ and max gain is at 17.0-
